On day 3 we only visited one centre after the meeting. We couldn’t spend too long since we had to get on the road but it was nice to see a centre in a different district not directly in Sakhi’s working area.
#### Ingaligi
The facilitator at this centre works for a different trust Angala trust that does community work in Koppala district. The centre here happens at the home of the director of the trust on their terrace. We couldn’t spend too long with the children here though they were eagerly waiting for us. The children here were very disciplined and were quite silent right throughout. We were also too tired to engage with them enthusiastically.
On the way and at the meeting the facilitator had mentioned to us that the children could not say the alphabets in reverse and we had challenged her on why that was necessary at all. Despite this for some reason I ended up asking one of the children to see if they could say the alphabet in reverse. The idea was to create an environment of support and show how with help the child could do it but I worry that perhaps it reinforced some wrong ideas and that we perhaps did not embody the ViKa ethos here at all.
