Paste to grind in mixer to chutney like consistency
- Red chilly - 1
- Jeera - 3 small spoons
- Pepper - 1 spoon
- Coconut
- Grind them together into a fine paste
- Rice or rice flour (optional thickening agents)
- Water add incrementally
Main Kootu
- Boil 2 cups of pesara pappu (split moong dal) and 4 cups of water
- Keep adding water and allow it to boil until it becomes thick
- Add the vegetables
- 2 chow chow - green squash
