- Our brains have evolved in such a way that we are inclined to learn from surprises instantaneously. It works by releasing hormones in two phases. In phase there's a micro burst of dopamine sort of like an alarm. In phase 2 our brain asks us to learn instantly on whether it's a threat or something harmless and asks us to change our belief system.
- It's especially powerful when you get surprises about your self image or self belief. This happens so fast that we don't even have a chance to register it consciously and it can be a powerful way to help someone overcome a negative self image.
- Might be a way to help children get to a [[Learner Self Image]]
