- There are two seemingly contradictory effects in psychology - Invisibility Cloak - people (incorrectly) believe they observe others more than others observe them - Spotlight Effect -  the psychological phenomenon by which people tend to believe they are being noticed more than they really are - These two might seem completely contradictory but both can be simultaneously true. When we're being ourselves and just casually speaking we have the ability to influence people more than we realise.
