It is imperative that all of us say to our children, “If you are ever present when one kid bullies another, you must do at least one of three things. You must tell the kid who’s bullying to cut it out, you must take the child who is on the receiving end under your wing, and/or you must go tell an adult what just happened.” It’s not realistic to give them only the option of standing up to the bully in that moment.
