- It takes a long time to build trust in a community. It's okay if it doesn't happen overnight. Often there is mistrust of authority figures and those with power built over generations. It's important to not take this to heart and treat it as part of the [[Ups and Downs]].
- At some point though if you listen to the voices and co-create with the community you will go from being referred to as 'Those people' to 'Our people' and that is when real change begins to occur.
- When I experienced a lack of connection with learners on [[2019-02-28]] I initially saw it as something I can do better but today I realise that maybe it just takes time to build up trust.
