- I want you all to do this activity very honestly. First I'd like you to take a moment and think of the thing that's worrying you the most. I want you to bring to mind things that are bothering you. It could be a fight with a family member or friend, a anxiety on how to fulfil a particular responsibility etc. Take a moment to do this. - Let's now do a simple activity I will ask you a question and you will write out all the possible answers that come to mind. What are all the possible uses of a safety pin? - Now Iet's take a moment to reset. We'll do a simple game here or sing a song. I'd like you all to now recall a very happy moment in your life. Something that brought you immense joy. Maybe when you won an award, when you saw your child for the first time or maybe when you spent a wonderful evening with your friends or family. - We'll do another activity this time where we will write out all the possible uses we can think of pencil. - Now we compare the two scenarios. Was it easier or more difficult in the first one than the second one. Do you think the question you were asked before affected your performance. Most likely it did. - Take a moment and think what kind of mood and mindset the children our at your learning centers. Are they anxious, afraid or stressed out or are they happy and enjoying themselves? - Every year there's an organisation that conducts a simple test to children across almost 40-50 countries. The children all get the same questions and then they check which country performs best. Consistently a small European country called Finland does really well in all subjects. Not only do the best students in Finland do well even the lower performing students do really well. So they went to Finland to see what the teachers there are doing. They found that unlike Singapore, China, India etc they actually had shorter school days. The children barely had any homework. In fact the thing that Finland was highest in is the amount of time children played for. - I'd like you all to take this one thing back with you when you go back. Happiness is not an outcome of success it's a precursor to success and remember unless you are enjoying yourself and learning to let go and have fun with the children they can't do that either. - There's a reason we're dancing and singing and making this as much fun as possible so that you all are also able to absorb as much as possible
