Date - 2023-06-26 ### Purpose - To conduct a literature review on assessment and evaluation methods in education - Potentially find some avenues to implement as a pilot at ViKa centres particularly the ones that are starting new ### Principles - Learning - The main purpose of this is to learn where the current research is on assessment and evaluation - Praxis - If we find something interesting we should definitely try it out rather than just understand it theoretically. ### Outcome Visioning - We read a bunch of papers and literature on assessment and evaluation. We find a few alternative systems and ideas that might work well in the context of ViKa. We are able to start a pilot implementation at one of the centres. ### Brainstorming - What do I already know about this project? - I know that some forms of assessment that we have tried at ViKa have not been successful. - I know how the centres work and how the children are growing qualitatively and it's about capturing that information. - What don’t I know that I need to find out? - I don't actually know how to research or conduct a literature review. I have no idea on how you should read papers and how to take learnings from it. - I don't know where I can find resources for research particularly in an Indian context. - Who can I talk to who might provide insights? - Prasanna and Srilakshmi are great folks to collaborate with and work with. - Can talk to other non profit founders on how they worked with something like this.
