I was working with some children on maths today. While my last few days have been excellent and the children were making lot of strides today when they worked with me they made some fundamental mistakes that made me sceptical. Lot of the learners today particularly struggled with mental maths which they had done the previous day rather comfortably. We worked through some examples and then tried to play a game where the learners would compete with each other. The learners were somewhat enthused but the response wasn’t that great. They also wanted to move on to more complex concepts without trying to work through simple additions that they did not fully understand yet. Today was hugely disappointing.
